WE WON!!

Results are in for our Journey North Mystery Class project and we WON!

Adrienne and I are very pleased to have found the correct locations for all 10 mystery classes. This coming friday we will "meet" the actual classes.

This was our second year in participating in this project even though she was in public school this time(we also won last year!). I can't say enough good things about it! If you are homeschooling or not, it is worth looking into:

The Journey North has many other projects to do throughout the year, and we will be trying out a few during our next school year. I think the following would be interesting to Adrienne and Celeste:
Here is a little explanation of Journey North, from their website:

Seasonal change is all around us. Children see it in the length of a day, in the appearance of a flower, in the flight of a butterfly. Journey North is a free, Internet-based program that explores the interrelated aspects of seasonal change. Through interrelated investigations, students discover that sunlight drives all living systems and they learn about the dynamic ecosystem that surrounds and connects them.

Sunlight and the Seasons: Children study seasonal change in sunlight in a global game of hide and seek called Mystery Class.

Plants and the Seasons: Children explore tulip growth in their own gardens, running an experiment that tracks the arrival of spring.

Seasonal Migrations: Children follow animal migrations. They observe, research, and report findings and watch journeys progress on live maps.

  3. How neat that you actually found all 10!!! I thought we had, but we didn't. I think on 3 of them, we just didn't enter them correctly. And, we actually missed 2 others. Right now, I'm trying to decide if we'll do it again this year. It was SO neat, but there are so many other things to do!
