Winter's Tail Webcast~ Virtual Field Trip

The kids and I will be watching this live webcast on Wednesday, October 7. When the dolphin named Winter was 3 months old, she lost her tail in a crab trap, was rescued and given the first prosthetic dolphin tail.
The scholastic website has many other resources to tie in with the webcast, so if you are interested, check it out: meet Winter the dolphin.
You can also visit the website of Winter's Tail for more information, photos and games.

For American residents, there is a great contest over at Jill's The Well Read Child blog! She is even giving away a Nintendo Ds game based on the story of Winter's Tail...

  1. Oh, how neat! Thanks for posting about this. We won't be able to watch it live, but it looks like we'll be able to watch the field trip later. And, I'll be browsing the Scholastic website, too. My daughter will love this!
