A Cool Drink of Water by Barbara Kerley, published by the National Geographic Society is a great picture book about water and how no matter where we are in the world, we all have to common need for drinking water. Photos are from all over the world, and one of the last pages is an explanation of each photo found in the book, with its location and with credit to each photographer. The last double page is a note on water conservation. This short picture book was enjoyed by all my children, especially my six year old, she wanted to know where the photos were from and how come people got their water from a well, a pump, or even carried it on their heads in brass pots.
